Patterns - Designer - Hagmeier, Lynne
Lynne learned to quilt over 25 years ago at a local quilt shop in Salina, Kansas, called The Quilting Bee, while working there part time. Her love of quilting evolved from other interests over the years; from cross-stitch & painting to home decorating & antiques. In 2000, Moda fabrics offered Lynne an opportunity to design fabric for their growing company. What a thrill to create a line of fabrics in exactly the colors you want & then make a quilt you’ve designed with that new fabric! In 2001 (after the last kid went off to college), she & her husband Robert sold their house & moved to a restored two-story brick building in Lynne’s childhood hometown of Bennington, Kansas, to expand her studio & offer Quilting Getaways on the weekends. Robert joined the business full-time, promising Lynne that if she designed & made quilts, he’d do everything else. After 6 years, over 100 retreats and 1500 quilters later, we’re no longer hosting retreats but are traveling several times a year to quilt shops and guilds across the country to offer programs & workshops from her quilt books & patterns. We’re now adding quilting cruises to our list of adventures. Lynne has partnered with Pam Buda of Heartspun Quilts to teach quilting workshops on cruises to wonderful destinations. Our first is in August of 2012 to Alaska!

Patterns - Designer - Halladay, Gina & Goudzwaard, Stephanie
Stephanie Goudzwaard and Gina Halladay founded Threaded Pear Studio in February 2006. We both worked a at local quilt shop and began designing quilts and teaching quilting classes. After collaborating on a few designs together at work, we started to dream of doing their own patterns along with long-arm quilting on a Gammill Statler Stitcher!

We enjoyed designing patterns and quilting for others. We have been featured designers at Quilt Market and in a couple of magazines. We have been blessed to be able to rub shoulders with some of the movers and shakers in the quilting world--and even quilt a few quilts for them as well.

Art to Heart was bursting at the seams so a few years ago we moved the office out of our home to office and warehouse space in Layton Utah. I have three employees, Diana, Kara and Danielle who work at the office and take care of getting orders out, keeping track of accounts and trying to keep things running smoothly. My design studio consists of three rooms at my home. I feel very blessed to be able to work at home. Grand kids grow up too fast, and I’m glad to be able to stay close by.

My design studio is in the lower level of our home. One room is fitted out as my sewing and creating room. I have a big cutting table in the middle of the room. Then there is an area with my sewing machine. The room has two large windows for lots of natural light. Two big double closets are packed full of fabric. All my fabric is sorted according to color and stacked on shelves. When I am working on a project I pull out whatever catches my eye. The result is creative chaos. When I’ve completed my projects, I fold the fabric up and put it away to wait for another day. The other room is used for my drawing and fabric design and painting. My office is upstairs where I do all of the computer work to prepare my books and patterns for publication and printing.

Patterns - Designer - Hansen, Klaudeen
Klaudeen is listed in WHO’S WHO IN AMERICAN QUILTING and is the editor of QUILT ART ENGAGEMENT CALENDAR which features the work of regional quilters and the ADDRESS & BIRTHDAY BOOK featuring miniature quilts and their stories. Kaludeen’s quilts have been in many invitational shows both in the US and Europe. Her AMISH INFLUENCES exhibit of 12 wall quilts was in Oslo, Norway, during the Olympics. Teaching is Klaudeen’s area of greatest interest. A recent trip to Japan’s International Quilt Expo in Tokyo (1,000 quilts) gave Klaudeen a new focus for her popular exchange quilt classes and lots of new ideas to share. Published works include: "Klaudeen Hansen’s Addresses & Birthdays."
