Sue’s love of Patchwork began in 1980 when she was expecting her first child. She made one quilt a year for 3 years. After her third child was born Sue decided she could get a little more serious now that she had a girl. Obsessive is probably the best way to describe it now, with most of her days being filled with designing and teaching across Australia and all over the world.

Sue and her family (6 in total) then moved to a small property in a beautiful part of the country called Eumundi in the Noosa Hinterland. This is where she wrote her first book "It’s a Hexagon Kinda Christmas". It was launched at the end of 2003.

Sue now has a book contract with C&T Publishing in the U.S. This book will be launched at Fall Market in Houston 2011.

Sewing has been a part of Judy Damon’s life for as long as she can remember. It encompasses everything from doll clothes as a child, to clothing and home decorating as a young woman, to a variety of sewing-related jobs over the years, including alterations, awnings, even sewing for the Defense Department! But after taking up quilting in the 80’s, other types of sewing took a back seat. In 1999, Judy left her job in the software industry, and opened Quiltopia in Hollis, NH. “Owning a quilt shop was a fantastic way to turn my love of fabric into a new career,” she says. “Being surrounded by creative people and colorful projects is simply the best!” She began teaching quilting classes there, and continued at local shops and in her own studio after closing the retail shop seven years later.

In the fall of 2000, I turned my creative focus to becoming an exhibitor at International Quilt Market, which was held in Atlantic City, New Jersey in the spring of 2001. I developed a larger line of products that included dolls, quilts, stitchery, appliqué and pennyrug patterns. This is when my dreams became a reality. That spring of 2001 opened many doors for us that we continue to cherish and dwell upon.

Today we are also progressing in the world of book writing! We have self published 3 books, "Pennyrugs & Pillow Thangs", "A View Through My Window" & "The Primer For Rug Hooking". Plus, one book we have written was published by KP Books and is titled "Wool Rug Hooking". We also have a book published with Kansas City Star in 2011 titled Simply Charming: Small Scrap Quilts of Yesteryear. We have also had a total of 6 quilt projects published in American Patchwork and Quilting Magazine!

You may wonder how we go about designing our things. Sometimes I draw out my designs first, or I’ve even been known to use a few of my daughters drawings (she drew several of the primitive flowers you see in the book "A View Through My Window"). Sometimes I also just start cutting out shapes and arranging them to look appealing. I’m not good with a computer, so my mouse drawing abilities are limited. There are times when I’ll wake in the middle of the night with another new idea and I’ll jot it down on the notebook I keep by my bedside. Then there are other times that I start a new project after I put the kids to bed and work like crazy until I realize it’s 4 in the morning! Oops!

I have been quilting for about 13 years. I started by teaching myself some quilting and getting a job at a local quilt shop. I took lots of quilt classes and picked the brains of all the teachers I could. Soon after, I started teaching quilting classes. I enjoy this very much. I truly love to see the "Quilting Bug" catch on. I still teach as often as possible. Mostly I teach my own patterns at guilds and shops around the country.

I have been designing quilts for quilt fabric companies and have had a few quilts published in quilt magazines. This is a great way to get to play with a lot of new fabric before anyone else! Could anything be more fun?!?

I am committed to providing well written, easy to understand quilt patterns. All of my patterns are tested on "real people" for accuracy. You can be assured you are getting a very good product when you buy my patterns.

Most days you will find me at home, sewing and designing new patterns. I have two great kids and a wonderful family who support me in my efforts. Life is good.

We are a mother-daughter quilt pattern design team. Angie also does machine quilting and is a rep for APQS longarm quilting machines. Weezie has 3 children, one in Oregon, one in Hawaii, and one locally. Angie has 2 little boys, 2 cats, horses and one nearly perfect husband. (Think I can add a little more fabric to my stash now?)
